This presentation will provide key information on the opportunities unfolding in the most dynamic Caribbean countries – The Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Cuba, The Cayman Islands, and Bermuda.

Objective: As the Caribbean is a region of many contrasts, it can be expected that the workshop attendees will engage in an interesting discussion and identify some of the best practices from the countries or companies they represent. The moderator will provide regional and global context in addition to facilitating the discussion.
The objective of the second part of the workshop will be to encourage exchange of opinions related to the following two topics:
1. Key drivers of 3G adoption in the Caribbean 2. Mobile data service adoption in the Caribbean

Workshop II Deploying Innovative Services: The Business Case for WiMax and IPTV
The deployment of new disruptive technologies will allow service providers the delivery of innovative services and guarantee new sources of revenue beyond usual data and voice services. One of the most pressing questions that service providers have is about the investment requested to offer those kind of services and the main question is how to meet and/or exceed business expectations.
Part I The Business Case for Wimax

Objective: This presentation is addressed to executives that require a broader understanding regarding the business aspects of applications, services and operations involving Wimax. This workshop will focus on each area involved in the implementation of a successful Wimax business model, including the commercial, financial and technological aspects.

Objective: This presentation will address the IPTV development and the opportunities for all service providers and will provide analysis of the key points concerning IPTV deployment and checking the potential impact on business.

Michael is an economist by training, with a Ph.D. from MIT. After MIT, he spent five years as a professor of Economics at INSEAD, a business school near Paris, before joining the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC). At Analysis Mason, Michael has worked with operators and regulators in six continents, providing advice on a variety of Internet issues. He has worked on projects relating to Internet backbone interconnection, spectrum assignments, broadband deployment, Voice over IP and IPTV. |
